Leitrim residents are being warned to not engage with a fraudulent email impersonating a local parish priest and requesting Apple Gift Cards.

ALERT: Email scam going around Leitrim

Leitrim residents are being warned of an email scam circulating in the area, attempting to fraudulently obtain money.

Scammers are using a fake email address under the name of a local parish priest, requesting the purchase of Apple Gift Cards for a cancer patient.

Residents are advised not to engage with any emails fitting this description.

To report suspicious activity, you contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda station at 071 965 0510.
