Leitrim fire brigade praised

Leitrim councillor Irene Guckian Rabbitte thanked Leitrim fire brigade services, particularly Mohill and Ballymore brigades, "as they went to great efforts to put out huge fires at Keeldra, Drumgownagh and Rooskey. They did great work in keeping properties safe and reassuring owners of properties and kept an eye on the fire that was very widespread and intense and spent hours putting out fires in various areas."

She added the fire brigades "do so much work and it's only when we need them in the event of fires or accidents that we realise they're there and all the work they do."
