There’s a fresh chapter on the horizon for Sligo GAA following the confirmation that former Mohill manager Eamonn O’Hara along with Dessie Sloyan will take the reins as joint-managers of the county’s senior footballers on a three-year term, Sligo GAA have announced.
O’Hara has led Mohill to their first back-to-back Leitrim Senior Championship titles in the last two years, winning a county final replay on penalties last year against Ballinamore.
The Tourlestrane native has experience in Sligo football, having managed his club five county titles and famously scoring the decisive goal in Sligo’s 2007 Connacht final victory over Galway. He was also named an All-Star in 2002 during a distinguished inter-county career.
Joining him on the sideline is Dessie Sloyan, another respected figure within Sligo football circles. Sloyan masterminded Sligo’s historic Connacht Under-20 title win in 2022, the first in the county’s history. He has also been involved in the Longford senior set-up under Paddy Christie and has managed both Easkey and Knockmore, where he is currently coaching.

Adding further experience to the new look setup, Con O’Meara has been appointed Head Coach, while Eamon McGee, a key figure in Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland success, comes on board as coach and selector.
