RIP: Tributes flow for Leitrim woman described as a 'kind, obliging, sincere lady'

Pauline Gillespie (née Foley) from Kinlough has been fondly remembered after her peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 30, surrounded by her loving family and in the compassionate care of North West Hospice.

A Kinlough woman has been remembered as a “great character” and a “lovely lady” following her passing on Tuesday, July 29.

Pauline Gillespie (née Foley) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the great care of all at the North West Hospice in Sligo.

She will be forever missed by her husband Michael, children David, Michelle, Lorraine, and Pauline-Anne, her cherished grandchildren Fergal, Saidbh, Meadbh, Jarlath, Aaron, Aoife, Rowan, Hazel, Elodie, Ada, and Eilidh, as well as her siblings Aidan, Stephen, Ann, Angela, Kathleen, Bernadette, Frances, and Fidelma, along with her wider family and circle of friends.

Tributes have poured in on RIP.ie, offering sympathies and fondly remembering Pauline’s warmth and personality.

“She was a lovely lady and a great character in Kinlough for many years. I remember her hearty laugh. May she rest in peace,” one condolence read.

Pauline reposed at her family home on Main Street in Kinlough on Wednesday, July 30.

Another heartfelt message said, “So sorry to hear the passing of Pauline. Always a kind, obliging, sincere lady and always helped my family over the years.”

Removal will take place on Thursday, July 31, arriving at St. Aidan’s Church for the Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, followed by burial at St. Aidan's Cemetery.

The family kindly requests family flowers only, with donations in Pauline’s memory to the North West Hospice, care of the donation box at the family home and church.

“May her gentle soul rest in peace, Pauline was a lovely lady and always had a smile on her face,” another condolence read, painting a lasting image of her kind spirit.
