Celebrate a sustainable Christmas at Leitrim’s Organic Centre

Leitrim's Organic Centre in Rossinver is hosting a Christmas event on Sunday, November 30 called ‘Green Christmas Fayre.’

The popular event will run from 11am to 4pm, giving shoppers the chance to browse sustainable, local craft and food stalls, perfect for finding Christmas presents.

Visitors can soak up the festive atmosphere of the centre, set in beautiful wintery, natural surroundings, with yuletide decorations that bring the outdoors in.

On the day, there will be craft workshops, live entertainment, and a few special guests, including the centre’s sustainable Santa.

Last year, the Grinch dropped in for a visit and some mischief, and this year there are rumblings that he may return.

Jim Ledwith, an authority on mummers, will offer a look back at a traditional Irish Christmas where mummers played a key role in the festivities.

Talented craftsperson Steffi Otto from 'Heritage Crafts Alive' will be demonstrating how to make mummers’ headdresses.

The centre is also delighted to welcome the Gaelscoil Chluainín children’s choir from Manorhamilton.

Natural arts and Christmas decorations will be facilitated by Seb, and The Grass Roof Café will be open on the day serving seasonal soups, sweet treats, barista coffee, mulled drinks and hot chocolates.

There will be a raffle with prizes kindly donated by The Shed Distillery, Rossnowlagh Sauna, and ‘Nature Boy’ written by Sean Ronayne.
