The death has occurred of Margaret McKiernan (née Connolly) on Sunday, 14th of December, surrounded by her family in Ballinamore Community Nursing home.
Condolences have flooded in for Margaret, who was described as “a real lady,” by one person who knew her.
Margaret McKiernan of Kildoragh, Ballinamore, and formerly of Ardunsaghan, Drumreilly, is survived by her children, her twelve grandchildren and five great-grandsons her sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

The Drumrielly native was described by another as an “unforgettable source of pleasure and wisdom” who never failed to impress with her knowledge and sincerity, and whose humour was legendary, and she will be so badly missed by all who knew her lovely, sweet nature.
One person who knew her remembers her as “the warmest of people.” They recall her warm welcome, her homemade chips and apple tart, and the infectious smile she always carried with her.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Michael, parents Thomas and Bridget Connolly, sister May, brothers Tommy, Patrick & Eugene (in infancy)
She will repose at Smith’s Funeral Home, High St. Ballinamore, this evening, Tuesday, from 6 pm until 8 pm
The removal will take place on Wednesday morning with arrival at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore, for the Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Oughteragh Cemetery in Ballinamore. The mass can be viewed online at www.churchtv.ie/ballinamore.
The family has asked for the house to be private, Family flowers only please, and donations in lieu, if desired, to the Patient Comfort fund, Ballinamore Community Nursing Unit, care of Smith's Funeral Directors or any family member.
