A new greyway between Dromod and Roosky will go to tender early next year, with Leitrim County Council chief executive, Joseph Gilhooly, saying the project will be well advanced in 2026.

Funding of €500,000 was granted to Leitrim County Council earlier this year after Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD announced a total of €16.5 million to deliver 63 projects nationwide through the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).

The project will see the construction of a 1.95km long greyway along the L1601, linking the villages of Dromod and Roosky and  will support recreational walking, through the provision of a safe walkway, suitable for all ages, allowing for safe walking route between the two villages.
