A driver was caught travelling at an excessively high speed over the weekend by the Sligo Leitrim Roads Policing Unit.
The motorist had N plates displayed on their vehicle, indicating that they are a novice driver still within the two-year restricted period after passing their driving test.
The driver was recorded travelling at 154 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
Gardaí confirmed that the motorist will receive three penalty points and must also pay a €160 fine.
