Leitrim SuperValu gets greenlight for parking expansion, with conditions

Leitrim County Council have granted conditional permission to develop extra car park spaces at Rooney’s Supervalu Manorhamilton.

The application by Silverfern Properties Ltd on was submitted last November and received a decision on November 18 of this year.

The development includes additional parking spaces, a new pedestrian entrance to the side of the existing building to allow easy access from the new parking area and all associated site works.

There are 13 conditions included with the planning application.

The car park will need to be enlarged to ensure there is a minimum of six metre wide aisle between rows of cars.

The raised footway linking Main Street to the building's entrance must have dropped kerbs where needed to ensure accessibility, and clarification is needed about how the car park's excavation will affect the steps serving McDermott Terrace, as the current plan shows the excavation extending beyond the site boundaries.

The developer also must pay to move the existing wastewater sewer, which is managed by Uisce Éireann, to meet their requirements.

Building work will only take place between 8:00am and 7:00pm on weekdays, and from 8:30am to 2:00pm on Saturdays.

No construction will occur on Sundays or public holidays.
