Leitrim County Council are set to engage with the Office of Public Works about potential remediation works at the River Bonet in Drumrane/Dromhair.
Cllr Mary Bohan brought forward a motion at December’s meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District requesting that drainage repairs be carried out at the bridge in Drumrane due to recent flooding that reportedly caused a blockage.
A response from the Roads department explained that investigations had been conducted, but no blockages were found.
“Leitrim County Council will liaise with the OPW regarding any possible remediation works as this river is within the OPW catchment,” the reply concluded.
Cllr Bohan also queried hedge cutting on the road leading to Killenummery National School from the cemetery side.
In response it stated that the location would be assessed to determine if hedge cutting notices need to be issued.
