The public has been invited to come along to the public information and engagement stall at the Manorhamilton Farmers Market on Friday 2nd May.

Working in partnership with the Manorhamilton Town Team, Leitrim County Council has commissioned a plan to help make Manorhamilton town centre more viable, vibrant and attractive (a Town Centre First Plan). As part of the process, the project team is inviting the views of local residents, organisations and businesses to help co-design the vision and plan.

The project team will have a stall at the Manorhamilton Farmers Market, Bee Park Community Centre, on Friday 2nd May 10am - 2pm, where you can find out more about the project and share your ideas through a range of interactive activities. The event is open to anyone with an interest in the future of Manorhamilton.

The Plan for Manorhamilton is being developed as part of the national Town Centre First programme, a policy approach for Irish towns which aims to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant, and attractive locations for people to live in, work in, and visit. The Town Centre First process recognises that every town is unique and that they also serve a vital function as the service, social, cultural and recreational centre for the local community. Town Centre First lays the foundation for each community to develop their own plan-led path forward for their town. The Policy is supported by cross-government funding and policy actions that are focused on delivery.

Key to Town Centre First are Town Teams, which comprise representatives of local residents, businesspeople, community/ voluntary groups and other stakeholders who come together with the support of the Local Authority through a dedicated Town Regeneration Officer to develop a plan and follow through with the all-important actions to make their area a better place to live, work and visit.

An online community survey is also running until Monday 12th May, available at: http://bit.ly/3RenS30 or scan the QR code below:
