Man killed in road crash in Midlands
The main N16 Sligo to Manorhamilton/Enniskillen Road is expected to remain closed overnight with diversions in place on the L3404 Drum road and at Dunally Cross, following a road crash earlier on Thursday morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the single-vehicle road traffic collision at Dunally, Sligo today, 11th September 2025.
At around 11.15am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the collision on the N16.
A passenger, a female aged in her 50s, was brought by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other occupants of the car – the driver, a female in her 20s and infant female passenger were brought to hospital as a precaution.
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them
They are appealing to road users who were on the N16 at Dunally between 11:00am and 11:30am and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to the investigation team.
