'Popular' young Leitrim man is announced as Mr Leitrim!

Mr. Leitrim Shane O'Hara

Popular young Manorhamilton man, particularly in farming and business circles, Shane O'Hara has recently been crowned Mr. Leitrim during a Leitrim Macra ceremony.

Shane will now go forward to represent his county at the national Macra finals in Kilkenny.

Giving details of Shane's prestigious crowning a Leitrim Macra spokesperson said “Shane is a member of North Leitrim Macra. Shane is 22 years old. Shane has many jobs which include farming, agricultural contracting, publican and working in the local mart.

“Shane enjoys sitting down for the evening to watch Fair City. Shane’s memorable Macra moment was one of his Club’s first events which was Tug-o-War. Over 300 people were on the street that day and there was a great atmosphere. Shane’s (inadvertent) embarrassing moment was when he sympathised with the wrong person about his mother’s death.

“We look forward to welcoming Shane and his supporters to Kilkenny. Tickets are available through the link in our (Macra) bio.” Meanwhile there is plenty happening lately on the local North Leitrim Macra Club's front according to the Club's spokesperson.

The spokesperson says that “a great night was had by all at Paddy Treacy's (event) in the Blue Devon on March 6th – and it’s safe to say the jiving lessons definitely paid off. We were also delighted to take part in the St. Patrick’s Day parades in both Manorhamilton and Dromahair; showcasing our “No to Mercosur” float.

“Thank you to everyone who got involved and made it all happen. Next up, we’re looking forward to our annual table quiz in Faley Mac’s Glenfarne on Friday 17th April at 9pm. Tables of 4 are €40, with agriculture, novelty and local rounds on the night, plus spot prizes and a raffle. Be sure to come along for a great night’s craic” the North Leitrim Macra Club's spokesperson added.
