The AGM of anti fracking community group Love Leitrim will take place this Thursday evening, December 8th, in Sexton House in Manorhamilton.
The meeting commences at 8pm and all are very welcome to attend.
Love Leitrim have been active in the community for over a decade and played an instrumental role in helping deliver a ban on fracking on 2017.
The group also continues to be heavily involved in various other campaigns including against the threat of fracking in Northern Ireland, the proposed development of a fracked gas import terminal in the Shannon estuary, the wider climate justice movement and supporting communities opposed to gold mining.
Current Chairperson of Love Leitrim Jamie Murphy said, “We would encourage as many people as possible to attend our AGM. Whether you were a member of the group before or would like to get involved for the first time there has never been a more important time for groups like Love Leitrim to have an impact on a local, national and indeed international level in facing the the challenges posed by climate change and extractive industries both at home and abroad”.
