Walls of small Mohill bridge have "disappeared"

Bridge to be placed on rehabilitation works programme

Walls of small Mohill bridge have "disappeared"

An old bridge in Treanmore needs to be repaired

Cllr Thomas Mulligan asked that the walls of a small bridge on the R202 in the townland of Treanmore, Mohill be rebuilt, as in recent years they have collapsed due to a combination of increased traffic, flooding and lack of maintenance.

A report by the Roads office at the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District meeting this month, said the council will place this bridge on the bridge rehabilitation works programme.

Cllr Mulligan said that over the years, "the walls have disappeared due to the extra traffic" and said it would "not be a major expensive job to do."

Cathaoirleach of the meeting, Cllr Enda Stenson fully supported the motion and said "the work done on those bridges is beautiful throughout the county."
