€500,000 has been approved for the the construction phase of a Greyway between Dromoda and Rooskey, Leitrim, a meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon heard this week with works set to take commence in spring next year.
Cllr Sean McGowan had asked when work will commence on the construction of the scheme and if the work will be done in house or will it be let out to tender.
The response stated that Department of Rural and Community Development recently approved ORIS Measure 3 funding of €500,000 for the construction phase of the scheme and tender documentation is currently being prepared by Leitrim County Councils Capital Office and it is expected that the scheme will be out to tender early in Q1 2026 with an expected start date on site early in Q2 2026.

Cllr McGowan said that it was a "tremendous boost to the area and I'm looking forward to seeing it."
