A toymaker is recalling a popular children's bath toy due to risks of "impalement, lacerations and punctures".
Zuru is recalling its Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing & Swim Bath Toys, with plastic top fin (Full-Size Products) and Robo Alive Junior Mini Baby Shark Bath Toys (Mini-Size Products) due to "a small number of complaints" relating to children slipping and falling onto the hard fin on the full size products.
The company has not received any consumer complaints for the Mini-Size Product version, but these products have also been recalled as a matter of caution.
The products will reportedly be removed from retail stores globally and destroyed.
This recall is only for versions of the products with a plastic top fin; the latest version which includes a silicone top fin is not part of the recall.
If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, register to receive a refund here or www.zurutoys.com, or by calling the dedicated recall line on 0800 208 1072.
Tesco and Smyths Toys have both issued recall alerts on their websites.
Smyths has confirmed the products currently available for purchase on their website (at time of publication) are the updated versions with silicon fins.
