PICTURES: Gig-goers begin countdown celebrations on opening nights of New Year’s Festival Dublin

Thousands of gig-goers have been preparing to ring in 2024 at the New Year’s Festival Dublin, a series of family-friendly public events, incredible live performances and dazzling light shows taking place this weekend.

Taking place across three stages over three days, over 40 acts are billed to perform with top names such as The High Kings, All Tvvins, Chasing Abbey, Ryan Mack, HamSandwich, The Scratch and Hermitage Green gracing the stages.

The New Year’s celebrations kicked-off at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins’ Barracks on Friday night with live performances across three stages from headliners The Divine Comedy, with special guests The High Kings and Amble. 

Revellers celebrated New Year's Eve-eve at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks - with live performances across 3 stages from headliner Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats and special guests Chasing Abbey, Ryan Mack, Jen Payne, HamSandwich, and more. 

The Scratch will ring in the New Year on Sunday with special guests Sharon Shannon, Gemma Dunleavy and Hermitage Green, while Irish band Picture This will headline the Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle as part of the New Year’s Festival.
