The grandson of the composer of Ireland's national anthem Amhrán na bhFiann has died after "a bravely fought battle".
Peadar Kearney's grandson, Conal Kearney - a popular acting coach who has coached Oscar-nominated actor Colin Farrell - died peacefully at University Hospital Galway on January 6 with his family by his side.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters Eva and Bríd, brothers Pearse and Peadar, sisters-in-law Eileen and Jean, brother-in-law Martin, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his circle of friends.
Mourners paid tribute on RIP.ie, with hundreds of well wishers leaving comments on the Condolences section of the website:

Reposing at his residence in Curragreen, Galway, on Wednesday January 10 from 4pm until 7pm.
A humanistic ceremony will take place in Irwin's Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin (H91CK84) on Thursday January 11 at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Bohermore.
