Gardaí this evening have revealed the names of the mother and children involved in the tragic collision in Mayo on the 26th of March

Gardaí name mother and two children who were involved in tragic Mayo crash

Gardaí continue to investigate the fatal road traffic collision on the N17 in Castlegar, Co. Mayo, which resulted in the deaths of Una Bowden (47), Ciara Bowden (14) and Saoirse Bowden (9) yesterday, Tuesday 26th March 2024.

Post mortems of the deceased took place this morning at Mayo University Hospital. The results of these post mortems will not be released for operational reasons.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

An Garda Síochána is aware that images of the crash scene are currently in circulation. Out of respect for the family, we are requesting these images are not shared.
