A sheep spotted running near a busy national road has been rescued by an animal charity with the help of a pet goat.
My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR) sent out a search party to retrieve the sheep after receiving reports that the escaped animal was heading for the N4.
According to the charity, the sheep ran from volunteers initially sent to retrieve him, leading MLHR to send others to help including Lilly the goat.
In a post published on social media yesterday (May 6), an MLHR spokesperson stated, "We finally found the poor little man in a ditch, we got him out and to the MLHR farm."
They confirmed the sheep had an infection and no identifying tags.
They continued: "He’s safe, he’ll have sheep friends and never have to worry. We have called him Philip."
MLHR is accepting donations towards Philip the sheep's care.
