Gardaí investigate fires that damaged four properties in Cork

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a number of incidents that occurred at shortly before midnight on Sunday, April 28, 2024 in Rosehall in Mallow, Co. Cork.

Criminal damage by fire was caused to one residential property in the area and attempted criminal damage at three adjacent properties.

All four properties were vacant at the time.

In a statement, An Garda Síochána said they were "also aware of misinformation, disinformation and fake news in relation to the suggested use of these properties".

"An Garda Síochána is aware that this houses were not intended for use by International Protection Applicants," they said.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

In particular, people may have been in the areas of Rose Garden, Rosehall, Annabella, in Mallow between 11pm on the 27th April 2024 and 12.30am on the 28th April 2024.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time, are asked to make this available to Gardaí.
