Man dies in road crash in Co Cork

A man in his 20s has died following a road crash in Co Cork.

Gardai are investigating the crash which happened on a road between Bantry and Ballydehob on Monday.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision, which involved one car, at 9am this morning.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed at this time.

Anyone who was travelling between Bantry and Ballydehob during Sunday night or the early hours of Monday morning and who may have video footage, including dash-cam, is asked to contact gardai.
