Dublin Fire Brigade have urged the public not to 'drunk cook' after a night out and get a takeaway instead

Fire fighters issue warning ahead of Stephen's Day night you may not have thought of

Dublin Fire Brigade issued a warning earlier this weeks about the risks surrounding 'drunk cooking' after a night out this Christmas season.

In a Facebook post, the fire brigade warned: "please remember not to #drunkcook" and urged the public to "leave the cooking to the professionals and get a takeaway".

One commenter concurred the warning as they commented: "My pal and his son died in house fire few years back doing just this... Frying chips in the pan whilst drunk after the pub.

"Am all for the craic and humour on fb posts.... But it wasn't funny burying them in the New Year.
