Garda are investigating a suspected feud-related shooting incident in Limerick city - hours before the arrival of Storm Éowyn which has wreaked havoc across the country.

A spokesperson confirmed that gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding an incident where a firearm was discharged in the Hyde Road area of the city on Thursday, January 23.

“The incident occurred at approximately 11pm. No injuries have been reported at this time.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said the garda spokesperson.

It's understood from local sources that the incident is connected to a local feud which has erupted in recent months.
