Gardai catch 600 vehicles speeding on bank holiday, one driver almost 100 kmh over the limit

As part of the Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operations Gardai clocked a driver going 148 kmh in a 60 zone

Gardai catch 600 vehicles speeding on bank holiday, one driver almost 100 kmh over the limit

An Garda Síochána, as part of the May Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operation, have caught over 600 drivers, driving in excess across the country and have highlighted some of the most extreme offenses over the weekend.

They posted the offenses to their officially X account highlighting a number of drivers well in excess of speed limits.

Following the news of 600  drivers detected in excess of speed limit the Gardaí also shared specific examples which include:

148km/h in a 60km/h Zone in Dublin 15

132km/h in a 80km/h Zone in Offaly

171km/h in a 100km/h Zone in Westmeath

109km/h in a 60km/h Zone in Dublin 24

120km/h in an 80km/h Zone in Donegal

145km/h in a 100km/h Zone in Roscommon
