Get ready for round two next Sunday when Annaduff and Fenagh St. Caillin's meet in the replay of the Smith Monumentals Intermediate Championship Final. The game will start at 2pm with extra-time also scheduled in the event of a draw.
Whatever about previous predictions, all bets are off when it comes to Sunday’s replay between Annaduff and Fenagh St. Caillin’s. And the destination of the Frank Reynolds Cup will come down to who has learned the most from the draw.
Truth be told, it was not a very entertaining game, a stop-start contest dominated by frees with little or no free-flowing football. Usually a replay goes the opposite way so we may just get the exciting contest we hoped for next Sunday.
Whatever about the quality of the game, it was nevertheless a gripping encounter but who will go into the replay on a high?
Do Fenagh look at two missed frees in the dying moments as a horrible missed opportunity or a sign they are on the right track? And do Annaduff think that they didn’t play well but still managed to grab a draw after almost throwing away the game?
Annaduff are in a perfect position and they have far more room for improvement. The question is do Fenagh throw off the shackles and really cut loose? If they do that, Fenagh to win with something to spare but if it is tight, Annaduff to prevail.
