Adam Ó Ceallaigh, the youngest candidate in Leitrim for the local elections, has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Candidates programme organised by the European Green Party.
This esteemed program is designed to cultivate skills in public speaking, policy development, and community organising among political leaders.
Adam Ó Ceallaigh, The Green Party Candidate for the Ballinamore LEA, has been selected to represent Leitrim and Ireland on this international platform, showcasing the potential and talent of local leaders in global arenas.
The programme aims to empower young politicians by providing them with invaluable training and resources to excel as community leaders.
The inaugural training session of the Young Candidates programme took place in Rome, Italy, over the past weekend.
Adam travelled to the Candidates' programme by train and ferry, where he interacted and collaborated with fellow candidates from various European countries, including Germany, Austria, Finland, and Spain.
"I am honoured to have been selected for the Young Candidates programme and am grateful for the invaluable lessons and experiences gained during the training. I hope to be able to use my new found skillset to better represent the people of Leitrim," Adam said.
