Proposed extension to telecom structure in Carrick could see new height reach 21 metres

A proposed extension to a telecommunications structure in Carrick-on-Shannon could see the new height reach 21 metres. 

Towercom Limited submitted a planning application to Leitrim County Council this week (August 7) for the proposed extension of the existing telecom lattice support structure at Eir Exchange, St George's Terrace, Townparks including the removal of the existing headframe. 

The proposed extended structure will carry existing telecommunications equipment, relocated equipment and new antennae, dishes and all associated equiupment, together with new ground level equipment cabinets and site development works. 

A decision is expected by October 1, 2024.
