Dromahair GAA is preparing to come together in a special tribute to Conor Torsney, almost one year after the 20-year-old’s untimely passing.

Conor, a much-loved player, coach, and friend, left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, both on and off the field.

To honour his memory, Conor’s parents, Kevin and Clodagh, along with family and friends, will undertake a sponsored 90km cycle on Saturday, June 14.

The event, which will serve as a heartfelt tribute to Conor, will also raise funds for the development of the Dromahair Community Sports Field.

“Conor was a complete gentleman and an example role model to how any young person should conduct themselves,” read a statement from Dromahair Gaa following his passing.

The cycle will begin at 9am in Dromahair, before winding through towns and villages across Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo. Supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer the cyclists along the route, which includes:

  • Drumkeerin (9:45am)
  • Drumshanbo (10:30–11am)
  • Leitrim Village (11:30am)
  • Keadue (12pm)
  • Ballyfarnon (12:15pm)
  • Geevagh (12:45–1:15pm)
  • Taylors Cross (2pm)
  • Ballygawley (2:30pm)
  • Ballintogher (3pm)

The cyclists are expected to return to Dromahair between 3:30pm and 4pm, though times may vary due to conditions on the day.

GAA clubs and local communities along the route are invited to show their support, with bucket collectors present at each stop for donations.

For those unable to attend in person, donations can be made online via the GoFundMe page.
