Allowance for medical incontinence waste "a necessity"

Cllr Brendan Barry requested that the Ballinamore Municipal District write to Ministers Eamon Ryan and Ossian Smyth and ask them when will the provision of financial support to persons with lifelong and long term medical incontinence be introduced under the household waste charging arrangements.

He said it has been almost six years now since it was proposed in the summer of 2016 and the allowance has still not been put in place.

Cllr Ita Reynolds-Flynn supported the motion and described it as “a necessity” and said it was another expense on people who are caring for others.

All councillors expressed their support.
