Convoy of six trucks to leave Leitrim for Ukraine next Monday

McMorrow Haulage from Dowra will be part of a convoy of six trucks leaving Leitrim for Ukraine next Monday

McMorrow Haulage from Dowra, Co Leitrim are helping to coordinate the collection of goods locally and transport them to the refugees camps along the border in Poland and Ukraine.

Three local truck companies, Campbell Carriers, Aughawillan, Sligo Haulage and McMorrow Haulage, are travelling with aid gathered in the North West and West Cavan areas on Monday, March 21.

A collection of items by McMorrow Haulage will take place on Saturday, March 19, from 10am-4pm. The trucks will then be fully loaded and ready to go.

As the convoy of six trucks sets off next Monday, they will be stopping in Carrick-on-Shannon for a brief 15-20 minutes before travelling on to Rosslare and sailing to the Continent.

The trucks won't be accepting aid in Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday.

Gerry McMorrow said they have been overwhelmed with the response to their appeal for Ukraine and would like to thank all organisations and football clubs for their generosity.

“We would like to thank Ballinaglera GAA, Drumkeerin GAA, Shannon Gaels, Geevagh Honda 50 club and Fenagh St Caillins GAA for their support. If anyone else wishes to help, please private message us or email info@mcmorrowhaulage.ie”

“If people haven’t purchased items yet, we would ask them to refrain from purchasing clothing as the refugee camps have enough clothing at present. Food and hygiene products are currently the main priority items. Thank you for your support,” he said.
