The Republic of Ireland are set to face-off against Luxembourg in their second international friendly of following the end of the domestic season.

Off the back of a 1-1 draw against Senegal in the Aviva Stadium last week, the Boys in Green are looking to get back to winning ways away in the Stade de Luxembourg.

Ireland will return to the Stade de Luxembourg for the first time since 2021, where Ireland comprehensively brought home a 3-0 victory courtesy of Shane Duffy, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Callum Robinson.

The match will be televised live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player. With the match kicking off in Luxembourg at 7.45pm on Tuesday the 10th of June.

Team News

There are injury concerns over Josh Honohan and Jack Taylor for tomorrow's international friendly against Luxembourg but both players trained in the MD-1 training earlier today. All other players trained and will be in contention for the fixture, including Bosun Lawal who was added to the squad on Sunday after the draw against Senegal.

Ireland's Head Coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said in the pre-match press conference:

"It comes because we are saying the same thing over and over again – probably boring for the players to listen to because we are saying the same thing over and over – and I have said before, basics first before details. Basics before details.

The excitement comes from that. We can feel that we are growing every time we play, like how comfortable we were against Senegal."

Irish captain Nathan Collins added that the Irish team can kick on from the game against Senegal:

"I think a lot of people said I think Senegal was a really big step. I think everyone seen we, we felt comfortable in the game, you know, we looked comfortable as well within our shape. I think everybody knew their role to a very high degree of it, and you could see it, it showed on the pitch. And it's just about growing that, it's about pushing that again, it's about just keep getting better. And we're fortunate now we're building a squad where players are challenging other players, so you have to be at your best."
