Allen Gaels GAA club make charitable presentations to North West Stop and Bo Peep Kids

Allen Gaels recently held a presentation following the hugely successful Shroomsday, which took place over the June Bank Holiday weekend in memory of the late Ronan Moran.

The event brought the community together for a very special day in Ronan’s memory while raising funds for two very worthy causes, North West STOP and Bo Peep Kids. Representatives from both organisations were presented with the proceeds from Shroomsday.

The organising committee would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make the event such a success. The support received from the local community, businesses, organisations, volunteers, family and friends was incredible and greatly appreciated.

First and foremost, a special word of thanks goes to the Moran family for their support throughout.

The committee would also like to sincerely thank Hegarty’s Centra, Scollan’s Gala, The Red Bank Restaurant, SKC, Dermot and Jacqui McDonagh of Arivo, and Keville Accountancy for their generous support and sponsorship.

The committee was delighted to welcome Rossie to Aussie’s Fergal Guihen as a special guest on the day. Thanks also go to Drumshanbo Fire Brigade for their demonstration, Kevin Blessing for doing a fantastic job as MC, and Cathal McGourty and Declan Lynch for providing the sound and music. Thanks also to Owen McCarty for capturing the occasion with drone footage.

A particularly special moment on the day was the unveiling of a beautiful flower box in memory of Ronan. A sincere thank you goes to Drumshanbo Men’s Shed and the Drumshanbo Tidy Towns Committee for their work in manufacturing and installing the flower box, creating a lasting tribute to Ronan.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you goes to the many volunteers who gave so generously of their time, both in the lead-up to Shroomsday and throughout the event itself.

There are simply too many to mention individually, but every person who helped, donated, attended or supported the event played their part in making it such a memorable occasion.

The tremendous community spirit shown throughout Shroomsday was a fitting tribute to Ronan, while also raising valuable funds for two very deserving organisations.
