In 1973, he bought a second-hand digger and began taking on small construction contracts, laying the foundations for what would become one of Kent’s largest family-run businesses, now employing over 750 local people. “The first three years of the partnership have given the Gallagher family memorable moments to share with Leitrim supporters. Promotion to Division 3 in 2024, secured with victory over Tipperary, was a particular highlight, followed by an appearance in the Division 4 final at Croke Park. More recently, Leitrim’s victory over Carlow in the 2026 Tailteann Cup provided another occasion to celebrate the team’s determination and ability.

“Alongside those successes, the challenges of recent seasons have reinforced the importance of committed support. Gallagher Group extends its best wishes to Steven Poacher, the players and the entire backroom team for the season ahead, and looks forward to supporting their efforts to build on those achievements.

“For the Gallagher family, the connection goes beyond results on the pitch. It is about pride in where they come from and the special place Gaelic games hold in rural Ireland, bringing people together across parishes, generations and counties. It is wonderful to see that passion shared by fans around the world, keeping communities connected wherever life takes them.

“With family and community at the heart of the business, Gallagher Group looks forward to another three years alongside Leitrim, sharing the dedication, hope and passion that unite everyone behind the green and gold.”
