Midland Motor Club announce Tarmac Rally for Longford

Midland Motor Club are delighted to announce details of their upcoming tarmac rally based around Longford town on Sunday March 5, 2023.

Midland Motor Club comprises members from Leitrim, Roscommon, and Longford. The rally will be the first in the National rally championship series having last run a round in 2019 and will see the first of the Triton Showers National Championship based in Longford town with HQ in the Longford Arms hotel.

The 2023 event will be counting rounds of the:

  • Motorsport Ireland National Irish Rally Championship
  • Sligo Pallets Border Rally Championship
  • Hugo Loonam Motors Midland East Rally Championship
  • Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series

The club are delighted once again to have The Longford Arms Hotel along with Admore Air Conditioning as main sponsors of the event. Orlagh Reynolds has been very supportive of the rally for many years and is looking forward to what should be a huge week-end in Longford. Paul Rowley (Admore Air Con) who is based in New York, is originally from Killoe Longford and is no stranger to Rallying having competed in both the US and Ireland.

Associate sponsors Shane Quinn Rallying is a regular competitor for the last few years while Faughnan Construction, an all family affair with Pat, Stephen and Amy Faughnan competing for many years now. Enda McCormack from McCormack Contracting is based in the US and has been rallying both in Ireland and the US and competes in a Hyundai R5.

Preparations are well under way with Clerk of the Course Seamus McTigue and his team busy planning the event to ensure a safe and enjoyable rally for both competitors and spectators alike.
