Success for Cormac & Trident at Irish Winter Nationals

Trident Swim Club had an action packed three days at the Irish Winter Nationals held in the NAC in Dublin with over 500 swimmers from 77 clubs taking part. Trident's Cormac Rynn brought home two senior medals for 200m Individual Medley and 400m Freestyle and Junior medals, bronze in 200m Freestyle, silver in 200 IM and gold in 400m Freestyle. 

All Trident swimmers made evening finals in their individual events. Ella McKeon 200m Butterfly, Phoebe Lynott 200 IM and 400 IM (two great PB's in the finals.). Clara Doherty was busy with a finals race each evening, 200 IM, 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle. 

Eoghan Rynn had Pb's in all his events and finals each evening, 50m back, 200m IM, 100m Back (PB in both the heats and Finals), 100m Butterfly. Conor Lanigan had finals every evening with a PB in the gruelling 200m Butterfly, 400m IM and 100m Butterfly ( PB in both the heats and finals). 

We had two relay teams Ella, Phoebe, Molly Mulvey and Grace Quinn for the girls clocking a time of 1:55.78. and the boys Cormac, Eoghan, Conor and Richie clocking a time of 1:39.67, narrowly missing a Connacht record. Congratulations to Cormac and well done to Team Trident on all the work it takes to get to this standard, your coaches are proud. 

Trident swimmers got to meet one of the newest World Record holders, Daniel Wiffen. It was a delight to talk to him and congratulate him on his recent brilliant swims.
