Met Éireann pinpoints when bad weather will return to Leitrim

The weather forecaster predicts drier and brighter conditions on Thursday afternoon, but things will turn bad again on Friday

It will be dry today with rain later

Met Éireann is warning of heavy rain later in the week

After a wet and breezy start on Wednesday, widespread outbreaks of rain and drizzle are forecast for the day in Leitrim.

Met Éireann forecasts that rain will gradually clear eastwards with scattered showers and bright spells following for the afternoon and evening. Highs of 5 to 10 degrees are expected, with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, easing light to moderate during the morning and early afternoon.

Scattered showers will continue overnight, with some heavy. Lows of 3 to 5 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds can be expected, freshening in southwestern coasts.

Showers or longer spells of rain at first tomorrow, but these will slowly clearing eastwards with drier and brighter conditions following for the afternoon.

Highs of 7 to 9 degrees are forecast in fresh to strong westerly winds easing light to moderate through the evening.

However, heavy rain is forecast from 4am on Friday morning through to 12 noon on that day.
