While some outlets have jumped the gun predicting the arrival of the heatwave tomorrow, Leitrim won't be seeing the best of the weather until Monday next week.
The good news is that it will be 'only gorgeous' weather right through the end of June.
Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24, will start to rise reaching between 20C and 22C with Sunday seeing the most of the sun. Overnight temperatures however will remain quite cool, not reaching double figures.
The expected heatwave will kick in on Monday, June 25, when temperatures will rise to 24C.
Tuesday, June 26, temperatures will also hit 24C. It will be cloudy but there will be some sunshine. Overnight lows of 13C.
Wednesday, June 27, will see the highest of the temperatures with a maximum of 26C. Overnight temperatures will drop to 12C.
On Thursday, June 28 it will partly sunny with a maximum of 25C. Overnight temperatures will drop to 16C.
Friday, June 29 will see a high of 24C with clouds and some periods of sun. Temperatures overnight will drop back to 15C.
However by Saturday, June 30 temperatures will fall back to 20C.
