Storm Gareth is on the way
A few bright spells this morning bit showers will develop quickly with westerly winds reaching mean speeds of 65 to 75km/h with damaging gusts reaching 110 to 130km/h. A Status Orange weather warning remains in place for counties Leitrim, Donegal, Mayo and Sligo until lunchtime on Wednesday.
There is a risk of coastal flooding due to high seas and rain will become heavy this afternoon with a risk of hail. Winds will ease a little overnight but showers will remain very heavy at times. Temperatures will drop to between 2 to 5 degrees.
