Two of the biggest names in Irish country music, Mick Flavin and Declan Nerney, have created a new show The Long & Short of Country Music.
The Drumlish pair, along with the Hooley Orchestra, are bringing this show to The Cornmill Theatre, Carrig- allen on Friday, March 8.
Both men have been at the top of their game for the last 30 years and are excited that this concert will keep you swaying and singing along in your seats!
Declan Nerney said: “We have never been as busy as we are at this point in time so you won’t find me complaining.
“We recently released a new DVD, Where’s The Party, which was awarded Best DVD of the Year 2018, at the Hot Country Awards.”
This new material shows another side of Declan's talents, in that he comes across with great humour and a nice touch of comedy on some tracks and also Declan's love of vintage machinery and farming. “The DVD has been doing exceptional well for us, gaining us a lot of new fans from its showing on TV and radio air play,” Declan enthused.
Couple all this with his former hits, Stop the World, Marquee in Drumlish, Three Way Love Affair, Gotta Get Up In the Morning, Walking On New Grass to name but a few and you get an idea of why Declan is so loved.
Mick Flavin has been rated as one of the best country voices every to emerge on the country music scene in Ireland.
Some critics have said if Mick was born stateside, he could have been a massive star in Nashville.
His huge hits over the years include The Old School Yard, Marie’s Heading Out to California, Wild Flowers and one of the most popular songs ever, My Own Donegal. These hits have made Mick the massive star he is today and one of the top box office attractions. Both men are really the Long and Short of country music.
