POLL: Do you want facemask restrictions to be lifted?

The Taoiseach Michael Martin indicated last night a change could be on the way for wearing facemasks in public.

Lifting the legal requirement for facemasks in shops, schools and on public transport will be considered by public health officials later.

The government is  expecting to get the green light from NPHET, with the Taoiseach indicating last night a change could be on the way.

All facemasks restrictions were lifted in Northern Ireland on Monday this week.

Some teacher unions are urging a cautious approach to the lifting of measures in schools.
