Connacht LGFA Club games switched to Monday due to storm warning

No decision on Connacht Gold Leitrim SFC Final replay as local officials monitor situation
Connacht LGFA have announced that all AIB Connacht Club Championship fixtures set to be played on Saturday October 24, have now been switched due to concerns over the effects of Storm Boelo, a move that will see the footballers of St Brigid’s in action next Monday.
St Brigid’s AIB Connacht LGFA Junior Club Semi-Final against Connemara side Grainne Mhaols will now take place on Monday at 1 pm in Aughnasheelin while St Joseph’s trip to Claregalway to take on the home side in the Connacht Senior B Championship will take place on Sunday October 25, also at 1 pm.
The Leitrim Observer understands that Leitrim GAA officials are monitoring the situation in regard to Saturday’s Connacht Gold Leitrim SFC Final replay between Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins and Fenagh St Caillins, due to take place at 3.30 pm.
Sunday sees Heartland Credit Union Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada host the Fresh Today Junior A Championship Final between Aughnasheelin and Kiltubrid (2.30 pm throw-in) with the clocks going back meaning a potential double header would have an earlier starting time.
Storm Boelo has seen the Mayo and Galway GAA Boards make changes to their planned schedule of games with the Mayo Intermediate & Junior Finals set for Saturday postponed until Sunday with Hastings Insurance Mac Hale Park now set to hold a triple header of County Final fixtures.
In Galway, the SFC final meeting of Moycuyllen and Salthill‑Knocknacarra has been moved to Sunday, with a 4pm throw-in at Pearse Stadium, part of a double header with the Intermediate Final between Caherlistrane and An Spidéal in the Intermediate decider at 2pm. The winners of the Senior Final will face the Leitrim champions on Sunday November 8, in Heartland Credit Union Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.
