Touching video shows children surprising their parents with gifts

The overall cost of Christmas is a top concern for 42% Irish people at this time of year, according to research from Aviva Home Insurance, but the children in this touching video demonstrate what truly makes Christmas precious.

The video follows a group of schoolchildren on their mission to surprise their parents with the most thoughtful gifts they can think of, with heart-warming results when their parents find out what they have been up to.

When it comes to preparing for Christmas, the research - carried out by RED C on behalf of Aviva - found that women generally have more concerns than their male counterparts, notably around paying for presents (44% v 35%) and preparing the food (30% v 18%).

Similarly, women are more likely than men to take care of the Christmas decorating (84% v 76%) while men are more likely than women to rely on their partner to do the Christmas decorating (48% v 33%).
