Nessa Cosgrove (LP) vows to run again after strong campaign in Sligo/Leitrim

Nessa Cosgrove (LP) receives 2,411 votes in Sligo/Leitrim General Election

Nessa Cosgrove of the Labour Party (LP) received 2,411 votes in the first count of the general election in the Sligo/Leitrim constituency. While it became clear that she would not secure a seat in this election, Cosgrove expressed satisfaction with her campaign and the support she received from voters.

Cosgrove's said her campaign resonated with a significant portion of the electorate. Her vote total reflects meaningful engagement with constituents and a robust effort to bring Labour Party values to the forefront of the conversation in a traditionally competitive constituency.

The Sligo/Leitrim constituency has traditionally been a dynamic electoral battleground, with candidates from across the political spectrum vying for representation. As the counts progress, the redistribution of preferences and transfers will likely play a pivotal role in determining the final outcome.
