A popular pub just outside Leitrim Village is set to host a festive day out for all the family this December, with a Christmas market planned alongside live music, food and plenty of seasonal entertainment.

Beirnes of Battlebridge, located on the border of Leitrim and Roscommon, just outside Leitrim Village, has announced plans for a full day Christmas Market and festive gathering on Saturday, December 12.

The event is set to bring together local businesses, artists, makers and performers for a day of Christmas celebrations, with something planned for all ages.

Visitors can expect live music and DJs, local artists, vintage and craft stalls, Santa's Grotto, wellness and sauna sessions, mulled wine, food trucks and more throughout the day.

The market is also offering an opportunity for local traders and creatives to showcase their work, with vendors currently being sought to take part in the Christmas markets.

Organisers are inviting those selling handmade Christmas gifts, art, vintage clothing and other products, as well as those offering services such as tarot and tattoos, to get involved in the festivities.

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor at the Christmas markets is asked to email [email protected] for further information.

Details on how families can pre book a slot to meet Santa will be announced closer to the event.

With Beirnes of Battlebridge situated just outside Leitrim Village, the festive gathering is hoping to attract visitors from across both Leitrim and Roscommon, as well as the wider region.

The traditional riverside pub and adjoining campsite closed in December 2025, before being reopened in July 2026, by the fifth generation Beirne sisters, Enya and Dearbhla, who paused their careers to take over the family business full time so it would not be sold or lost.

Enya and Dearbhla said they are looking forward to the Christmas event and celebrating the festive season with the local community.
