Leitrim councillors said a deep dip in the road at Kilclare
A dip on a south Leitrim road could put drivers "off the road", a councillor said at the latest Ballinamore meeting.
Cllr Enda McGloin had asked that the Leitrim County Council "urgently" examine the R209-5 road at Kilclare for "very serious subsidence. This road, for a main route, is very uneven and requires immediate attention and should have the support of the TII in getting foundation support done."
The official response said that the Road Design office will carry out an assessment at this location and consideration will be given to developing a scheme under Specific Improvement Grants from the Department of Transport and that the patching unit will be scheduled to make minor repairs on this location."
He said that he was concerned that "large articulated lorries going at speed; they may cause an accident."
