Babies for Peace photo gathering at 12 noon on Thursday, August 24, in The Market Yard, Carrick-on-Shannon.
Following the tragic killing of a family of four in Ukraine last week, including a 23 days old baby girl, the people of Carrick-on-Shannon (where her sister Katrina lives and works) are holding a baby gathering at 12 noon on Thursday next, August 24, in The Market Yard, Carrick-on-Shannon.
The tiny population of County Leitrim wants to send a simple message to the ordinary people of Russia: The bombing of innocent babies is not an acceptable way to show your patriotism no matter what country is involved.
Therefore, all mothers with babies under two are asked to take part in a photo montage that will be sent to the people of Russia and elsewhere all over the world, through media and social channels.
It is not OK to blow up innocent babies and their families, no matter what the cause is.
This simple gesture for peace will deliver a powerful message.
Please come along to The Market Yard at 12 noon next Thursday.
