The controversial and long delayed public realm works in Carrick-on-Shannon are expected to be completed in March.
Contractors are currently completing snag works on areas that were “not satisfactory” and up to standard.
Once the roadworks have been finalised, Leitrim County Council said traffic wardens will return to police parking in the county town.
Senior Engineer Shay O’Connor said the traffic wardens will be back next month to police illegal parking and unpaid parking in the town.
He said this should help sort numerous issues with car parking and traffic flow reported over the past few months.
Paid parking will be installed and motorists will have to purchase a ticket to park on Main Street and in public car parks.
