James McGovern RIP
The death has taken place of well know Leitrim man James McGovern.
He was one of the highly regarded McGovern Brothers who sponsored the Leitrim team for a number of years.
His death notice reads as follows:
James McGovern of Griffith Avenue, Drumcondra, Dublin 9, formerly Aughavas, Co. Leitrim, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, and the Goblet Bar, Artane, January 15th 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family; very sadly missed by his beloved wife Peggy, children Aidan, Vera, Nuala, Andy and Eileen, daughters-in-law Christina and Louise, sons-in-law Willie, Tristan and Ciarán, grandchildren Sean, Nikita, Karla, Henry, Leo, Bill, Pete, Jodi, Séamus, Tómas, Euan, Grace, Pierce and Charlie, brothers Tom, Gerry and Tony, in-laws, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at his home on Tuesday, January 17th from 3pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St Vincent de Paul Church, Marino, arriving for 11.30am mass. Burial afterwards in Dardistown Cemetery.
For those who can’t attend the service it can be viewed live by visiting Marino Parish.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland at PAI Donations.
